16 years ago when I applied for the PCA class at HSNNY, I never could have imagined where it would take me. At the time, I had very little work experience and didn’t really know anything about home care. During my time as an aide I decided to take the leap into nursing school, not knowing what the future of my career would look like but hoping that it would stay in home care as I grew to really love what I do. When I graduated nursing school I was given the opportunity to stay with HSNNY, I gladly accepted and couldn’t imagine doing anything else now. I’m beyond humbled to receive the employee of the year award and as I reflect on my time here at HSNNY, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunities I’ve been given and for my teammates that have helped me grow throughout my journey here.

Amy, Amanda, Keith and Janene all let me know when to expect their visits by calling ahead. They listened thoroughly to what I had to say and gave helpful suggestions to address problems I was having with my recovery. Amanda, my main PT, was especially helpful, suggesting a TENS unit and reminding me to ice frequently.

You are very lucky to have such a caring, knowledgeable person. Treats you as he would his family– also he was always prompt. Thank you for loaning him to us, we will tell everyone to try to get him as their therapist. He made my recovery very fast by his excellent work.

The majority of my care has been with Mindi, the nurse from your organization. She always calls before she comes. She is very kind and professional, and I have become very fond of her. She puts up with my two cats.
